We had a busy day at the Waltham Windmill craft fair today. Fantastic weather and a good turnout made it a good day for everyone. Because the event was at such a striking local landmark it only seemed right to do a special 'Landmark' print for the occasion. This is the sixth in the series now with more following soon. I have also added it to the shop with the others so you can add it to your collection. Mike (Clumsy Pickle)

Hello everyone. Hope you're all enjoying the bank holiday weekend and the wonderful British sunshine. We have some big news here at Pickle HQ. The 'Landmark' prints are to be stocked in Pennells garden centre in Cleethorpes. So if you prefer to buy your artwork in a real bricks and mortar shop then now you can. (plus the cakes there are fantastic).
Mike The last few weeks have been really busy over in Pickle HQ. Along with the release of the 'Landmark' collection I have been working on some different items, which have been affectionately dubbed 'Literary Invasion Art'. I'll explain more about them shortly. I've also been interviewed by Lincolnshire Today as well everything else Pickle related. Below are some of the pictures taken by them for the June issue which comes out at the end of May. As mentioned earlier the latest collection I'm working on is the 'Literary Invasion Art' which can be seen in the picture on the right hand side. It involves sourcing vintage book pages and Hand illustrating in pen and ink directly on to them. I am currently in the process of drawing some to add to the shop page. However I am also offering a commission service whereby you can order a specific illustration and/or specific book too. For example A mad hatter drawn on a page from Alice in Wonderland. If you are interested and would like some more information please feel free to drop me an email and I'll help out however I can.
Mike (The Clumsy Pickle) Well ladies and gents the website has been up and running for almost a week now and a good reaction so far. Need to keep spreading the network further yet so please feel free to retweet and like etc, or if you know of any good listing sites please let me know. Anyway on to work now. I am currently working on some exciting artwork based on the old Art Deco travel posters and thought I'd pop up a little example for you all to look at. I'm hoping to make a series of these if the interest is there. Which is where you all come in. As a bit of research I'd like to find out what peoples opinions are, and if a series of North East / Lincolnshire travel posters would be of interest to people. As such please could you leave a comment on this blog stating your opinion and share with as many people as possible. I'll then look at the results and see what the next step is.
Thank you in advance and I'll keep you all posted. Mike :-) |
