Hello everybody. I hope all is going well in the wonderful world of the internet.

We had a busy day at the Waltham Windmill craft fair today. Fantastic weather and a good turnout made it a good day for everyone. Because the event was at such a striking local landmark it only seemed right to do a special 'Landmark' print for the occasion. This is the sixth in the series now with more following soon. I have also added it to the shop with the others so you can add it to your collection. Mike (Clumsy Pickle)
For those of you in the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area today is a fine day to read the newspaper. The Clumsy Pickle has made it into the business pages of the Grimsby Evening Telegraph. Feels strange yet brilliant to see glowing reports about the business in the press. I will also be in the latest copy of Lincolnshire Today which comes out next week. So make sure you go and buy a copy.
So a big thank you to The Evening Telegraph and here's to the future of the Pickle. Mike :-) The last few weeks have been really busy over in Pickle HQ. Along with the release of the 'Landmark' collection I have been working on some different items, which have been affectionately dubbed 'Literary Invasion Art'. I'll explain more about them shortly. I've also been interviewed by Lincolnshire Today as well everything else Pickle related. Below are some of the pictures taken by them for the June issue which comes out at the end of May. As mentioned earlier the latest collection I'm working on is the 'Literary Invasion Art' which can be seen in the picture on the right hand side. It involves sourcing vintage book pages and Hand illustrating in pen and ink directly on to them. I am currently in the process of drawing some to add to the shop page. However I am also offering a commission service whereby you can order a specific illustration and/or specific book too. For example A mad hatter drawn on a page from Alice in Wonderland. If you are interested and would like some more information please feel free to drop me an email and I'll help out however I can.
Mike (The Clumsy Pickle) Over the last couple of weeks strange things have been happening in the clumsy pickle workshop. The rattle of paint cans and the occasional uttering of "ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" have given birth to the latest in a line of artistic collaborations with Sleeping Dog FX Sleeping Dog FX offer a range of hand built guitar effects pedals. We are currently working together on a range of hand painted and hand built pedals so I heartily recommend you take a look at the website if you're of a musical persuasion.
MIke (The Clumsy Pickle) Well ladies and gents the website has been up and running for almost a week now and a good reaction so far. Need to keep spreading the network further yet so please feel free to retweet and like etc, or if you know of any good listing sites please let me know. Anyway on to work now. I am currently working on some exciting artwork based on the old Art Deco travel posters and thought I'd pop up a little example for you all to look at. I'm hoping to make a series of these if the interest is there. Which is where you all come in. As a bit of research I'd like to find out what peoples opinions are, and if a series of North East / Lincolnshire travel posters would be of interest to people. As such please could you leave a comment on this blog stating your opinion and share with as many people as possible. I'll then look at the results and see what the next step is.
Thank you in advance and I'll keep you all posted. Mike :-) Today is the launch of the new Clumsy Pickle website. We are a brand new Illustration and graphic design service. We can create artwork for whatever purpose you may need. From Corporate images to illustrative work for children's books, and everything in between.
If you look around the site you will see a portfolio of previous clients, as well as the work created for them. If you see something you like and would like to commission some work, then please don't hesitate to get in touch via the contacts page. We are on both Twitter and Facebook so feel free to come and say hello, like, follow etc too. This blog will hopefully be updated on a regular basis with all our news and information. There may even be some little glimpses into the design process from time to time so keep an eye out. Speak to you soon Mike The Clumsy Pickle |
